Transparency for Credibility

We believe in transparency through independent third-party certification to support our products. Independent certification gives design and building professionals confidence that the products they use are the right fit for their projects.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a comprehensive, internationally-harmonized report that documents the ways in which a product, throughout its lifecycle, affects the environment.

Site-specific and thickness-specific EPDs are available for a select range of products powered by QuadCore Technology (KS Series, Optimo, and Designwall 4000). A site-specific EPD is also available for our fire-rated K-Roc HF Series.

An EPD tells the life cycle story of a product in a single, written report, focusing on information about a product’s environmental impacts, such as global warming potential (GWP), smog creation, ozone depletion potential (ODP), and water pollution. An EPD can also include other product impacts such as land use changes, potential toxicity risks, as well as corporate environmental initiatives that are of particular interest to the discloser.

EPDs do not rank products, and the existence of an EPD for a product does not indicate that environmental performance criteria have been met. EPDs are a disclosure tool that helps purchasers better understand a product’s sustainable qualities and environmental repercussions so they can make more informed product selections.

Kingspan Insulated Panels North America created the first-of-its-kind cradle-to-grave UL Certified ISO compliant EPD in September of 2011. Since that time, Kingspan has issued multiple revisions to document our journey of continuous improvement. Our current EPD is certified by SCS Global Services, an international leader in third-party certification and standards development in environmental, sustainability, food safety and quality performance claims.

GREENGUARD Gold

The GREENGUARD Gold certification program screens over 360 volatile organic compounds (VOC) and total chemical emissions, ensuring that certified products are not harmful to building occupants and do not adversely impact indoor environment quality.

Kingspan is the only metal panel manufacturer in North America to deliver GREENGUARD Gold certified products. We are excited to include GREENGUARD Gold Certification across all products utilizing Kingspan’s innovative QuadCore foam technology – KS Series, Optimo, KS Flat, KS Granitstone, KS Shadowline Interior, KS Flat Interior, KS Flat, KarrierPanel and Designwall 4000.

Additionally, certification ensures compliance with California’s CDPH Standard Method Section 01350 and can provide credits to a number of building rating systems. To achieve GREENGUARD Gold certification, we worked with UL Environment, who has over a century-long legacy of trust, to ensure the testing methodology is best in class.

An important part of Kingspan’s ethos has always been to lead the industry in innovation and third-party certification. Pursuing the GREENGUARD Gold stamp has been an initiative to show that we can provide products that are good for not just the built environment, but also the human environment. We believe it will also help push the insulated metal panel industry forward as a whole by raising the bar.

Health Product Declarations (HPDs)

A Health Product Declaration (HPD) demonstrates our commitment to transparency, material health, and responsible product design.

Developed using the standardized framework of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative and recognized by programs such as U.S. Green Building Council LEED®, an HPD clearly communicates the ingredients in our products and evaluates them against leading health hazard lists.

By providing this level of disclosure, we empower architects, designers, and building owners to make confident, informed material selections that support healthier indoor environments and high-performance sustainable buildings. Our HPDs reflect not only compliance, but a proactive commitment to transparency, trust, and continuous improvement in material chemistry.

Recycled Content

Steel is one of the most recycled materials on the planet, and we are committed to pushing that advantage even further. By prioritizing steel with high recycled content, we are actively reducing embodied carbon, conserving natural resources, and strengthening circular material flows across our value chain.

Our ambition is clear: drive toward 100% recycled content in our steel supply chain, supported by partners who are accelerating the transition to 100% electric arc furnace (EAF) steel production. EAF technology, powered primarily by recycled scrap and increasingly by low-carbon energy sources, represents the future of responsible steelmaking.

Through collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, we are aligning our procurement strategy with suppliers who share our vision- advancing performance, reducing environmental impact, and building a resilient, low-carbon materials economy.
