Incorporating Our Own Products
Our new headquarters features an impressive array of Kingspan products, including more than 21,000 square feet of insulated metal wall panels and 30,000 square feet of insulated metal roof panels. These advanced solutions are complemented by Kingspan’s façade, insulation, skylights and ductwork products.
Innovating with Circularity and Reduced Environmental Impact
As part of our commitment to circularity, we made substantial efforts to reduce our environmental impact in the new facility’s construction. By reusing much of the existing structure and recycling materials, we were able to divert 99% of construction waste from landfills. Notably, we reused insulation foam from our neighboring manufacturing facility in the cement mixture for concrete floor slabs and pavers. Additionally, we donated 3,000 ceiling tiles to local businesses impacted by hurricanes.
By retaining the original structure, we were able to reduce the embodied carbon of the project by 60%, compared to demolishing and rebuilding the facility from scratch.
Sustainability Features of the New Facility
The design of the new office focuses on operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact in every aspect. Some of the key sustainable features include:
● An all-electric design with no natural gas systems.
● Heat recovery HVAC systems and advanced controls to optimize energy consumption.
● 100% LED lighting with energy-saving controls.
● Daylighting strategies to bring in natural light, improving occupant well-being.
● 12 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, supporting lower-carbon commuting.
● Rainwater harvesting systems to reduce water usage for non-potable applications.
● Stormwater management practices designed to protect local waterways and reduce flooding.
We are also targeting leading certifications, including LEED v4 BD+C Gold Certification and the International Living Future Institute’s Net Zero Carbon + Energy Certification.
