At Kingspan, our commitment to reducing our own impact on the environment is exemplified in our Planet Passionate program. In the recently released 2025 Planet Passionate Report, Kingspan shares the progress we’ve made on our ambitious sustainability targets.

Here’s a look at some of the highlights and takeaways from the report that underscore how we’re driving meaningful change.

Driving Down Carbon Emissions

One of the most critical aspects of our Planet Passionate initiative is reducing carbon emissions across our entire value chain. That includes Scope 1 emissions, which come directly from our operations, Scope 2 emissions, which are tied to the energy we purchase and use, and Scope 3 emissions, which come from across the wider value chain, including raw materials, transport, product use and end-of-life treatment.

We are proud to report that by 2025, Kingspan has successfully reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 70%, meeting our target for 2030 five years ahead of schedule. We’ve also made significant strides in Scope 3 emissions, with a 24% reduction in emissions from the supply chain, demonstrating our commitment to decarbonizing the entire lifecycle of our products.

Circularity and Recycling

Kingspan’s commitment to a circular economy is reflected in efforts to recycle and recover materials at every stage of the product lifecycle. In 2025, Kingspan used 1.05 million tonnes of recycled and renewable materials in the production of products. A tonne, also known as a metric ton, equals 1,000 kilograms or about 2,204 pounds.

This milestone marks significant progress toward the company’s target of 1.5 million tonnes annually by 2030. Additionally, Kingspan facilitated 10 product takeback and recycling schemes, recovering more than 5,500 tonnes of materials and keeping valuable resources in circulation.

Protecting Water Resources

At Kingspan, we recognize that water is a precious and increasingly scarce resource. We have set ambitious targets to reduce our impact on global water resources. Kingspan’s innovative systems, including rainwater harvesting tanks, help businesses and communities capture and store water for use in irrigation, sanitation and more. As of 2025, we have harvested over 57 million liters of rainwater across our facilities, putting us well on our way to our goal of 100 million liters annually by 2030.

Through our ongoing efforts, we aim to not only preserve water but also help our customers reduce their reliance on traditional water sources, contributing to a more sustainable future for all.

Innovation in Building Materials

Our product innovation continues to push the boundaries of sustainability. We’ve introduced several lower embodied carbon products that offer reduced environmental impact without sacrificing performance.

Kingspan Insulated Panels North America’s products are central to this environmental strategy. A key innovation helping drive these reductions is QuadCore®, Kingspan’s next-generation hybrid insulation core used in many insulated metal panels. QuadCore’s proprietary microcell structure delivers exceptional thermal efficiency while using materials more efficiently throughout the manufacturing process.

As a result, Kingspan insulated metal panels powered by QuadCore technology have been shown in studies to deliver up to 28% lower embodied carbon compared to traditional concrete wall assemblies.

Community Impact and Partnerships

Beyond environmental targets, the Planet Passionate program also focuses on community engagement and environmental stewardship at the local and global levels.

Some partnership highlights include:

●     A new multi-year partnership with Big Life Foundation to support wildlife conservation and local communities in East Africa. Through this partnership, Kingspan is sponsoring the Nairrabala Ranger Unit, which helps protect a 37,500-acre conservancy in Kenya that serves as a critical wildlife corridor.

●     Continued support for global ocean clean-up efforts through partnerships with organizations such as 4ocean, rePurpose Global and, most recently, Seven Clean Seas.

●     Community-focused projects ranging from school and classroom construction in Senegal to clean-up and tree-planting efforts in Brazil, roof renovation work in London, and support for water access initiatives in Kenya.

Through Planet Passionate Communities, Kingspan has also supported more than 390 projects since 2021 aimed at environmental protection and improving quality of life in the communities where it operates.

Meeting Net-Zero by 2050

While we are proud of the progress made, we are also aware that the road ahead requires continued effort. Kingspan has committed to reaching net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050. Our ongoing initiatives – including energy efficiency projects, renewable energy generation, and further product innovations – will ensure that we continue to meet these ambitious targets.

The 2025 Planet Passionate Report demonstrates Kingspan’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship. From reducing carbon emissions to advancing circularity and innovating with low-carbon products, we are proud of the progress we’ve made and excited for the journey ahead. As we continue to lead the charge in creating high-performance, efficient buildings, we invite our partners and customers to join us in making a lasting, positive impact on the planet.
